Darkness

Darkness, that scares you
Darkness, that overthrows any happy feeling in you,
you can almost hear it laughing at you.
Ah! Imagine my condition, being left all alone at it.
without even a spec of light to guide me to safety.

"Pity!" you would say,
But no one can understand.
how much I suffered under the veil of darkness

How I used to run in all directions possible,
trying to get away from the darkness. But in vain..

This suffering went on, until one day, an idea struck me.
And after that I saw a tiny spec of light,

That light grew in brightness,
and as it neared me it multiplied,

into 2, 4, 8.....
And all of them made me realize,

i was not surrounded by darkness,
rather i was covering myself from the light.

And now, I cannot see even a tiny spec of darkness,
amidst the brightest lights that surround me. ;)
